The most important thing to remember on the day of your session is to relax. It's gonna be fun! Please, do not become stressed out about me coming to your home. I am here to help you in any way that I can and capture beautiful images of you and your newest family member. This is meant to be a lovely time and nothing to worry about.
Once I arrive, I will ask that baby gets fed and has plenty of time to fall asleep. While this is going on, I will be setting up for baby's posed photos. This happens anywhere in your home that I find nice natural lighting and may result in my moving a bit of furniture around. (I'll move it back!) Then, I will come and photograph you while you are holding a now sleeping baby. From there, I will start on the lifestyle session. These photos typically are of everyone in the family. Just remember to relax and be natural. This is a moment you're going to want to remember forever.
After family photos, I start baby's posed portraits. I typically only do one or two set ups and this may take some time. Again relaxing is key.
Neutrals/ light colors are always a winner for newborn sessions. Creams, grays, light blues, and soft pinks create an airy feel to your photos and match with the softness of you little one. Stay away from large logos (or any writing, if you can help it), avoid black and neon colors to not overshadow the star of the show... you sweet new baby!
